Gideon Wilds was in charge of the firefighting department Jonathan Harker worked at for three years. He was forced to fire Jonathan due to him risking the lives of his fellow firemen Eames, Gavin, and Stone to rescue a young boy trapped inside a collapsing building. Gideon seemed very sorry about having to find Jonathan but told him he had no choice, because he wasn't sure if he could trust Jonathan to not let it happen again. ("Broken Mirror")
